Die Naakte Waarheid / The Naked Truth

‘n Gehoor.

Deesdae is Nosana se gehoor aanlyn.
“The biggest lie is separateness” is wie aanlyn-uitgewer Nosana Sondiyazi vandag is.

The last time Nosana Sondiyazi was on stage, she froze and forgot her lines. While most people would have been embarrassed by this, she managed to get out of it by being furious instead, at the request to perform to begin with. She wasn’t warned that she was going to have to perform. And she only ever does her own work. She had nothing new to say. How dare they not prepare her for this? An audience!

Lately, Nosana’s audience has been online. She has not been on stage in a while. Her current stages are her YouTube channels and blogs. And no, the next sentence is not “Google her”.  It is “Facebook her”. She is always up to something on there, sharing images from the many art and likes she has. And funnily no, not offending people.
Bald, funny man Larry David, who’s famous for offending people in his roles, says “Anyone can be confident with a full head of hair. But a confident bald man – there’s your diamond in the rough.”
Larry David is due to star in a new film to be released in the USA in August 2013 entitled Clear History. The filming began in July 2012, which quite incidentally is when Nosana quit her last job.
She held a successful Youth Day Children’s Rights event in the city hall of the Karoo town, Philippolis, with the aid of the Bloemfontein Justice Center. She attended an animal auction at the same venue, then fled home to Bloemfontein to further contemplate her navel. You might wonder what Clear History has to do with this story. But imagine, quitting a job when you’re not sure where your next salary cheque will come from, is quite risky. Almost like untying yourself from a safety rope while mountain-climbing.
Now why would somebody want to willingly remove their link to life? Nosana says “It would be because they have found something more important. So, when I hear the title Clear History, I think of the ability to let go of the past, and pursue for whatever reason a new future.”
As uncertain as most futures are, we all negotiate the unknown with various degrees of courage, and sometimes effectively risk all we can to try something new.
Behind that nonexistent button for our lives, Clear History is the philosophy of transparency. Being able to freely explore our pasts is as important as being able to rid ourselves of it. So in as much as our computers allow us to clear our histories on search engines, the fantasy of doing the same in real life is the stuff adventure films are made of.
Nosana Sondiyazi ventures into her own mind and shares with us her poetry and drama in “The Biggest Lie is Separateness”.
Asking Nosana what “The biggest lie is separateness” means to her, she answers “We are all connected. Sometimes I fantasise about a world where mirrors don’t work when one stands in front of them alone; that when you are faced with the possibility of your reflection on a window, glass or water, the image would be vacant if on one’s own. You would need to grab your child, a pet, a friend or even your enemy to see yourself. “
“The biggest lie is separateness” is what online publisher Nosana Sondiyazi is all about.
After embracing topics like “The Beard”, a magazine tribute to Salvador Dali about masculinity and femininity and “Oneiric Machinery”, an architecture magazine inspired by the South African award winning songstress Lira about merging private house and public space, Nosana decided to merge her own poetry with graphic images designed by Sarah Prior in an anthology entitled “Poedrama – a compilation of real disclosures”.
